The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine calls for Consolidation of Political Forces on the Eve of the Presidential Campaign
On Monday, Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, met Jacek Kluczkowski, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Poland to Ukraine.
V.Lytvyn informed J.Kluczkowski about political and economic situation in Ukraine.
V.Lytvyn believes that situation would be much worse in case The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine failed to work.
According to the Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, "discipline of Ukrainian politicians, adoption of the Resolution on exact date of presidential elections, provision of their timely holding" are the key prerequisites of positive development of events in Ukraine in the period of presidential campaign.
Dwelling upon the adoption of amendments to the budget, V.Lytvyn supported the Bill on Amendments to the State Budget for 2009 approved by all the subjects of legislative initiative.
The Parties also commented on certain aspects of cooperation with the International Monetary Fund. V.Lytvyn underscored the necessity "to pass political decisions concerning support of the external account of Ukraine".
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Poland to Ukraine invited the Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to participate in the bilateral Inter-Parliamentary Assembly Ukraine-Poland on 12-13 March in Poland, and in the trilateral Assembly Ukraine-Poland-Lithuania on 25-26 June 2009.
